Our Location

Ormiston Christian Faith Church is located at the northern end of Wellington Street, in Redlands City. The church is close to historic Ormiston House, which was built by Captain Louis Hope in the mid 1880s.

The first commercial sugar cane grown in Queensland thrived in the Ormiston area, and the harvested cane—some of it from the land on which our church now stands, was crushed in a nearby sugar mill. The thriving bamboo at the rear of our church was planted by Captain Hope, and its swaying backdrop is a reminder of our three decades of ministry in the Philippines and Asia.

The land on which Ormiston Christian Faith Church stands is almost two acres in area, and from its frontage in Thorn Street runs down to Hilliard Creek, which wends its way to Moreton Bay. The wetlands along the creek have long been recognized as a wildfowl area of international significance. We’ve planted many trees and shrubs over the years, and one of the largest of these, a giant Fig Tree, is the centrepiece of our front car park.

We’re very aware of our area’s protected wildlife, natural beauty and historical significance, and this awareness provides the best assurance that Ormiston Christian Faith Church and its surrounds will remain one of the most beautiful subtropical settings in South East Queensland.
