Our Location

Ormiston Christian Faith Church is located at the northern end of Wellington Street, in Redlands City – just outside of Brisbane. The church is close to historic Ormiston House, which was built by Captain Louis Hope in the mid-1880s.

The first commercial sugar cane grown in Queensland thrived in the Ormiston area, and the harvested cane—some of it from the land on which our church now stands, was crushed in a nearby sugar mill. The thriving bamboo at the rear of our church was planted by Captain Hope, and its swaying backdrop is a reminder of our three decades of ministry in the Philippines and Asia.

The land on which Ormiston Christian Faith Church stands is almost two acres in area, and from its frontage in Thorn Street runs down to Hilliard Creek, which wends its way to Moreton Bay. The wetlands along the creek are home to many species of birds and native animals. We’ve planted trees and shrubs over the years, and one of the largest of these, a giant fig tree, is the centrepiece of our front car park. Usually those who turn up early get the shady spots!

We’re very aware of our area’s protected wildlife, natural beauty and historical significance, and this awareness provides the best assurance that Ormiston Christian Faith Church and its surrounds will remain one of the most beautiful subtropical settings in South East Queensland. It’s an awesome environment in which to worship our Lord and Creator of all things!

How to find us . . .

We’re a little out of the way, but it’s worth the trip!

Travel up Wellington Street, past the shops at the roundabout, and turn left on Oak Street. Follow Oak Street until it turns to the right and becomes Thorn Street. Our church is just on your left. We’re around 2 km’s from the Ormiston train station.

If you’d like to visit us you can just turn up, or if you prefer you can drop us an email or phone us and we’ll meet you at the door.
