DONATE OR SACRIFICE?

We’re sure you’ve heard the old joke about the difference between the contribution of a hen and a lamb to a breakfast. The first donates the egg, the second becomes the chop.

It’s not really about how much you give – but what it costs you to give. Giving is not only asking and receiving in prayer but also giving and receiving in faith. Watching the widow, Jesus observed many giving out of their wealth but one giving sacrificially.

We’re thankful for the Lord’s provision and recognise that everything we receive comes from the Lord. We leave the amount itself to those who give, and to the Lord, who alone knows whether the gifts are donations or sacrifices. We know that God is the source, and that He uses willing vessels.

You will find that we don’t harp-on about money all the time in our church. We trust in God to meet our needs, but we know that God uses people to give support. We are facing enormous challenges as the task we have in front of us is enormous.
